New Volvo B9TL/Wright Gemini2s For MetroLine

MetroLine's new Volvo B9TLs with new London Transport roundel. MetroLine have ordered these VWs for route 105 as they won the contract from first. MetroLine will take the route over from 15th July.

as you can see there is nothing odd or different about them from any other WVL in go aheads fleet.

Ex MetroLine Plaxton Pointer 1 being used for Stratford express service still with MetroLine seats.

Go Ahead are lucky to have been the first to resive 2 of these vehicles made by MCV & Volvo. The hole look of the bus is just amazing no one I know can see any floors in the the new product, I feel the let down is the Go Ahead colours if this was in stock red 10/10 I would give it. The reason of this bus being made is because Wright & ADL were full up with orders for the UK. The bus it self is 10.2m so its smaller than a Gemini2 but yet it has alot of leg space, walking space on the vehicle is more than enough in fact it has been tested 2 people can walk right past each other on the upper deck. The body it self is very stong for London's everyday passengers. The chassis it self is a Volvo B9TL with a 6sp ZF gearbox

From the from the front of the

 vehicle it looks aggressive with a more furture look of Londons buses, i mean just look at the lights and the Volvo sign.

For a 10.2m bus it looks longer than it does.T he Yellow LED runing lights going around the vehicle is a nice look.

The manager at SI was saying it could go on the olympic routes which is why some of the seats still have handles.

Air con will run through the whole vehicle even down stairs, with other buses now it would just be up stairs what would get the benefit.

Ibus screen  is integrated into the body

I really do like the Volvo sign of the front with other Volvo vehicles it would just be on the back.

The rear top back light i would make that into one LED light, i say that because how it looks now looks american.

The LED indicator is a honey cobe look which looks alot better than the first model of the mcv.

Here we have a First / GreenLine. Route 702  service is a  limited-stop express service. The route uses Ex London Volvo B7TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini mk1 , Dennis Trident/Plaxton President, Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini (with new back). Abit of history on the buses used and route;  Volvo B10M/Jonckheere the coaches what were transferred from Slough for the services. Armchairs London commuter routes C1 and C2 became Green Line route 701,
with the existing Slough to LondonGreen Line route 701 passing to Armchair.

 More intermixing from Go Ahead London with there new Volvo B9TL on Wright bodies. These buses are for route 171 and should not be intermixed, there is a load of PVL Class buses within the fleet for intermixing this is how new stuff get destroyed. I wish Go Ahead would treat there new stuff like the hybrids, i mean how rare is a hybrid intermixed NEVER!!. When these buses go to Q Camberwell they will be intermixed has well because Q do all the night routes in Go Ahead so these buses have e,g 1,12,42,185,68,468,45,X68,on the blinds for all double deck routes in go ahead, so don't be shocked when one strays around the fleet.

Here we have Go Ahead London's new Volvo B9TL on Wright Bodies for route 171. These new buses were to replace the old PVL Class on that route. This route will move to Q (Camberwell ) along with the new buses to make room in NX (NewCross). Reason being the 436 will get  32 new Hybrid Volvo B5LH & Enviro 400, along with the 453 moving to NX (NewCross ) they will 35 new Volvo B5LH & Enviro 400s so New Cross will need  all the space they can get.

Has London General is the head office of Go Ahead i don't believe they will order Volvo B9TLs on Wright bodies, my reason being with their fleet they went with B7TLs on wright bodies but on voith not ZF like London Central. Second reason there Enviro 400s buses on Optare Olympus and Enviro 200s on Optare Esteem London Central never toke an order of the Optare buses only on full Transbus Enviros. Third reason the Volvo B7Ls only London General made an order, along with the Volvo B9TL Enviro 400 buses. and now they have been sent a demo of the Mcv DD Volvo B9TL but will go to DockLands Buses because they have MCV  buses within the fleet and now how to look after them right.

But London Central did get somethings London general didn't Hybrid VDLs on Wright bodies and Ex East Thames Scania Omni Town's.
