Go Aheads Darts leaving

Go Aheads Y reg , 06 reg darts from routes C10,484,P5 are all on lease and are all held up in New Cross depot ready to be collected, turns out that ADL sent someone to inspect the darts damage. Whats happening now is NX have to repair all the darts on lease eg body  panels, seats, windows. All this has to be done just so they can take them off there hands.

  1. These buses are going back, so what's going to be used on the 129 at contract renewal?

  2. Hi Edd. From What I have heard the 129 will be using the Existing Hybrids Which Abellio Use and will move to New Cross Garage on the takeover date. Im not sure this is 100% true. I know that former 10.2m Pointers from the 170 will be also used on the 129.

Also the former C10 buses are leased also the Y Reg Darts will be disposed becuase they are not LEZ (Low Emission Zone) Compliant. From the 3rd January 2012 no non LEZ Compliant Vehicle in London will not be used on the roads. Only Euro III buses + will be in service on Londons Road from the 3rd January 2012.

  3. The LEZ website says that buses have to be Euro 4 standard from 3 Jan 2012, however, many of the buses in London have Euro III engines. Are these vehicles going to have new particulate traps fitted to them to meet the standard?

And also, does this mean all pre-2001 buses will be moved out of London by this date? Because there's still a huge fleet of Euro II buses lingering around in London. Will this be replaced, or will they get the relevant traps to make them appropriate?

  4. Ah, I see. The Euro II vehicles all have partial traps, which brings them to Euro III standard, but not Euro IV. The Euro III vehicles have the same traps bringing them up to Euro IV, making them compliant post-2011, but not the Euro II vehicles. So are all of the Euro II vehicles in London going by then? Cause there's still huge numbers of older Darts, Tridents, B7TLs, etc, as standard allocation on many routes. Will all of these buses get replaced (which would seem like a massive cost), or will they get full traps temporarily until they can get new ones?

  5. Hi Edd.

What that means is that any bus bought after that date must be Euro 4 +. Euro 3 Buses will be staying.

  6. Hi, I've just read up on the LEZ and apparently all buses have been brought up to Euro 4 anyway, by full particulate traps.

  7. Hi Edd. That is True as Go Aheads Refurbished PVLs have been brought up to Euro 4. Me personally I am not good at Indentifying Engine 'Euros'
